BIBLICAL SOUL COUNSELING AIMS AT EMPTY PLACES IN OUR LIFE AND CULTURE
Pastors, doctors, counselors, parish nurses, Stephen ministers and any
caring
Christians are invited to share in a dynamic period of three days of
biblical
soul counseling with Dr. Daniel Trobisch of Salzburg, Austria. The
conference will begin on Sunday evening, June 2, and end on Wednesday after
lunch, June 5 and will be held at Mount Carmel near Alexandria, MN.
Dr. Trobisch is interested in helping us answer the question, "what do I
need
to live?" Daniel states that Jesus came for this reason, "that you may have
life and life in abundance." So what does it mean for us to have life? And
how do we experience life in abundance?
Since September 11th, more people are raising this question. But what has
been the church's response? "Our historic problem as a church is that we
deliver the answers without asking the questions," Daniel said in a phone
interview from his home. "As believers we must first ask the question of
ourselves as to where do we really find life. Many claim to know the
answers
intellectually but not existentially."
To help clarify our understanding, Daniel uses the image of a tent. A tent
has a floor, walls and a center pole to support it. During this conference
we will examine what is our floor, our wall and our centering pole. And
finally we must address, to what does the door of our life open in the same
way that a tent has a door that opens? The biblical stories of Balaam,
Jacob, Peter, Zacheus, Zachariah and Mary will reveal these issues in their
lives.
Daniel Trobisch is a Psychologist who leads conferences throughout Europe on
this subject. In addition, Pastor Johan Hinderlie and Ingrid
Trobisch-Youngdale will be involved in worship and other parts of the
conference. The cost of the conference (including housing and meals) is
$275 for the three days or $95 per day.
