Introduction:
A warm welcome to P.AtrialFibSupport! The "P" in our title stands for "permanent," "persistent," or "paroxysmal," three of the broad types of atrial fibrillation, a heart arrhythmia. All are welcome here: afib patients or past afib patients as well as their family and friends. The major goals of this group include the offering of sympathy, encouragement, information, shared experiences, and news along with the caring concern that is immeasurably helpful in making afib more bearable.
Guidelines:
To help achieve these goals, the guidelines for group interaction call for courteous, respectful, agreeable, on-topic interaction and discussion. Chain letters should never be forwarded to the group, especially if they are off-topic. Source acknowledgement, including URL, author, title, publisher, etc., along with quotation marks, should always be given when quoting material from another source. Disagreement is welcome but should be expressed agreeably and respectfully. Vulgar/obscene language, offensive/disrespectful remarks, name-calling, and racial slurs are unacceptable.
Persons interested in afib will find this group to be a supportive, informative, and peaceful haven. However, what persons interested in afib will not find in this group is reliable, professional, medical advice because this is not a medical site or group. Information received from this group can never replace advice and treatment from a medical professional or doctor and should not be acted upon before consultation with a medical doctor. Treatment by a medical doctor is essential in finding a solution to the problems associated with afib. This group was founded to provide comfort and information but not medical solutions. However, comfort and caring along with competent, professional, medical advice from a doctor can make all the difference in coping with afib.
