Medicine Wheel For 2009Spider
Another year has just whizzed by. Time is accelerating and 2008 was full and busy. The Energy Web is shifting and realigning. The landscape of the planet changed and our personal lives changed as well. Earth Changes intensified. It seemed that no country was immune from intense weather phenomena; including hurricanes, floods, windstorms, snowstorms, and even drought in some areas. It also seemed that no country was immune from violence and fighting as people attempted to hang on to their Fourth World ways. Personally, many people chose to relocate their homes, changed jobs or struggled with illness in attempt to integrate the changing energies. All of this was part of the plan for transition as we evolve into the new dimension, the Fifth World.
2008 was the year for Recommitting. All of the lessons and opportunities we experienced this past year were created by us so that we could reconnect with the Universal Energy Field and recommit to the Wholeness of Being. I think everyone realizes that the world can not stay the way it is and each person is seeking change in their own way. Many humans continue to use Fourth World methods of domination and control, which only makes matters worse. But many others are seeing that this just doesn't work anymore and the changes they seek are evident in the election results here in the US. It is no surprise to me that the people elected a president that they felt could bring major changes for the government and economic systems as well as the welfare of all of the people and the conservation of our planetary resources. President Obama has the open-mindedness and clarity of vision to step outside the mold and create a new system based on the Fifth World energy of wholeness.
We are at the entrance to the Golden Door. Katie Dolphin so aptly put it in a drawing she made for the give-away at our Winter Solstice Ceremony. She drew animals resting peacefully in their nests in the grass while clouds floated overhead. Inside one of the clouds was a door with the words: "You are here. The door is open." We all stand on the threshold. On the other side of the Golden Door is the place of unconditional love from where all life originated. We each carry a spark of that Light of Love within us every moment of every day; however unless we focus on that love, it tends to get lost behind the constructs of our ego. We can see the Light of Love in the eyes of all other creatures. This golden light connects us as Relations and provides a foundation for peaceful living. A simple rekindling of the Light of Love will take us through the door.

Medicine Wheel of Completion of Earth Changes *
I received the Medicine Wheel of Completion of Earth Changes in the year 2000. This Medicine Wheel has thirteen words- one for each year from the year 2000 until the year 2012- each word a guide to the energy and events happening that year. To put the Medicine Wheel for 2009 into context, I have summarized the Medicine Wheel of Completion of Earth Changes below.
The year 2000 was the Vortex at the center of the Medicine Wheel of Completion of Earth Changes. The Vortex center is characterized by chaos as it whirls energy around to create changes. The years from 1987 to 1999 lead up to the Vortex and the years from 2001 to 2012 lead away from the center of the Vortex into the future. These years create rings around the Vortex center- the year 2000- like the ripples that occur on a pond when you throw in a stone. Two years share the same circle and the same energy in this process of evolution. For example, the first ring outside of the Vortex center year 2000 contains the years 1999 and 2001, the next circle has the years 1998 and 2002, the next circle 1997 and 2003, and so on. The coming year, 2009, is on the same ring with 1991.
We began our journey around the Medicine Wheel of Completion of Earth Changes in the year 2000 with the word Releasing, calling us to let go of lessons from the past. From there, we journeyed through the South, working with Remembering Our Purpose and Reuniting With Like-Minded Relations. The years that we spent in the Direction of the South brought personal and planetary opportunities to let go of the past and begin a new phase of growth with an attitude of wholeness.
From 2003 to 2005, we walked in the Direction of the West, where we worked with Rebuilding Sacred Space, Reconciling Our Goals and Relearning Ways to Survive in the Fifth World. The years that we spent in the Direction of the West took us on an inner journey to learn what is really important about life. We learned to see through our heart and listen to the guidance of our Guardian Spirit. We learned to trust in the process of growth and evolution.
From 2006 to 2008, we walked in the Direction of the North on the Medicine Wheel of Completion of Earth Changes, where we worked with Recreating Thoughts of Harmony, Rewriting Teaching Stories for Peace, and Recommitting to New Goals. Many personal and planetary lessons surfaced during these three years of our walk in the Direction of the North, giving us the opportunity to put into practice what we learned in the West in order to live the wisdom of the North.
On the Medicine Wheel of Earth Changes, 2009 is the year of Recognizing New World Energies. We are now in the Direction of the East, the place of inspiration and creativity. With the attitudes we brought from the South, the Spirit guidance of the West, and the wisdom we gained in the North, we are ready to step into our role as creators inspired by the vision of wholeness. 2009 is the year to create and invent. We will continue walking in the Direction of the East for two more years. In the year 2010 we will work with Reemerging Personal and Earth Transformation, and in the year 2011 we will work with Reforming Our Earth Path.
The year 2012 brings us to the close of the Medicine Wheel of Completion of Earth Changes. In 2012, we will walk in two directions - the last year of the Direction of the East on the Medicine Wheel of Completion of Earth Changes and the first year of a new cycle in the Direction of the South on a new Medicine Wheel. The word for 2012 is Revolution - Celebrate the Completion of The Cycle and Begin A New Cycle. As we walk through the final direction on the Medicine Wheel of Completion of Earth Changes, we have an unprecedented opportunity to expand our awareness and manifest positive physical growth. It surely is an exciting time to be alive!

Medicine Wheel For 2009 - Recognizing New World Energies
Energy changes intensify this year as we move from the Direction of the North into the Direction of the East on the Medicine Wheel of Completion of Earth Changes. We have learned our lessons and we can focus now on creating our future. At this time, we can instantly manifest our thoughts and feelings. Each of us must find the Light of Love that we carry inside. It is very important to keep a positive focus during the transition- maintaining good feelings and good thoughts; and manifesting good words, good actions and good relationships. Let your excess emotional baggage transmute. We don't have to work at this, just simply let it happen. The transition will be effortless if we are willing to trust. Envision your Light of Love and become your full potential.
As a nation, we must recognize our connection with all other creatures, people from every nation, and the planet as a living entity. If we can transmute our differences, the walls of separation will dissolve and we can indeed recreate the world as a peaceful, harmonious home. The door is open to manifest whatever we hold in our hearts. In this first year of the Direction of the East, we must become the vision that we hold in our hearts and each individual vision is related to wholeness.
The words for 2009 are Spirit, Teachers, Letting Go, and Reflection.

LETTING GO
The Great Mystery never gives us more than we can handle, which is something to remember as energy shifts intensify this year. It's good to know that we are being guided and directed by our Guardian Spirit, the Spirits of the natural world, and other Spirits that are here to help us through this time of transformation. Changes will continue on all levels of being.
We begin this year with the word Spirit in the North. The wind storms of the past few months have been shaking us out of the old forms, moving planetary energy, and establishing new vibrational patterns. Energy seems to be constantly transmuting and reforming into new multi-dimensional constructs. This winter, 2009, is a time of personal energy integration. This process will be much easier if we can clear the schedule and allow ourselves extra time to rest. Down time will also make it easier to hear Spirit guidance. This should be a time of "effortless effort." You don't have to work at this, just allow yourself to BE. Visualize your energy center (Vibral Core) and see your Light of Love glowing brightly within. Sit in ceremony or meditate often. Listen to the snow fall. Hold a stone and let it touch your heart. Honor the Universal Wisdom that you carry within. Take long baths and let the vibration of the water merge with your Energy Web. Share energy with another creature being. Create musical and artistic works using media unfamiliar to you. All of these activities will ground us and help us transmute old energy patterns.
Toward spring people will come together to create new world structures. The word here is Teachers. Ask for guidance from your Spirit Teachers and follow their messages. If there are any areas in your life that feel uncomfortable, now is the time to bring them into alignment with your commitment. Tie up loose ends and create solutions to your problems. Bring your relationships into the Light of Love. Walk with an attitude of Faith and Trust. Things might not be going as you had planned, but know that you are being guided according to the grand Universal plan for this time.
Get involved in creating world change. This is the time of working together to bring about changes through small local groups and as world nations. New leaders are emerging in every country in the world and these leaders carry the vision of the Fifth World of Wholeness. They are experts in their fields and have much to teach. We must recognize the Fifth World teachers and work together with them to make world changes. Much work will be necessary to transform the old institutions and ways of thinking, but be assured that each of the new leaders have clear vision. This process can be effortless if we are willing to let go of personal prejudices and transmute our fear into trust. Spiritual teachers will bring the circles of honoring back together and all people will be welcome to sit in the circles. We must remember that we are really one- all manifestations of one consciousness who agreed to be here at this time in order to remember the secret of creation.
Summer bring the words Letting Go. This is not a time for making constructs but a time for freeing ourselves from constructs. The world as we knew it no longer exists. Earth changes and weather patterns will intensify, so we must be prepared to deal with safety and survival situations. If you still carry old thoughts, habits, or stress, it's time to gently let go and move on. Let go of the reality based on "I" and transmute into the reality based on "We." When we let go of our concept of self, we open up to the potential of the entire Universe. It may feel like we are free falling and we are. Trust. Resist the urge to be in control, for there is a much bigger picture here than any one of us can imagine. Keep your thoughts positive. Act from your heart. Keep your awareness within each present moment so you can learn to go with the flow of the wind instead of being blown away by it. Visualize the future. We are really at the end of our evolutionary passage: from here can see the light at the end of the tunnel. If we let our Light of Love shine bright enough to touch the Light of Love within others, our One Light will grow and the way will be easy.
Fall brings the word Reflection. The thoughts, feelings, words and actions that we created earlier this year will come back to us like a reflection from a mirror. That's why it is so important to keep our thoughts positive, even in the midst of uncertainty. At this time, humanity will make a big shift in consciousness triggered by either world events or Earth changes. Our awareness will become multi- dimensional. Much healing will occur as we enter this new level of being. The possibility is here to align our physical body with our Energy Web and move past health problems if that is a part of our commitment. Our multi-dimensional awareness will enhance relationships as we awaken our DNA to connect on many more levels, enriching communication and understanding between all life forms. The possibility is here for all nations to align and create peace. Likewise, there is potential for aligning the planetary Energy Web with the physical planet to bring a renewed ecological balance. This is a time for contemplation. We can't consciously hurry the process, just watch it unfold and gratefully accept the changes.
This shift in consciousness will prepare us for the year 2010 where we begin with the word Vibration. Sound will play a key role in healing and aligning energy in 2010. On a global scale, we will continue working together to build a new world based on wholeness and equality. As we share and grow, Universal Wisdom will be revealed.
In a recent ceremony I had this vision: "The Sacred Tree is flowering once again, with big beautiful flowers that most of us can not yet see because they exist in the other dimension. Those flowers bring the gift of life - nourishment, healing and growth- to those that trust in opening up to a new awareness."

DNA Footnote:
As I spoke about in last year's Medicine Wheel article, four strands of our human DNA are simultaneously awakening at this time (I estimate this occurring between 1987 and 2050.)* Perhaps that is why we are all feeling such an urgent quickening. Humans are changing more rapidly now than at any other time since our Ancestors learned to stand upright. The first humans, our Ancient Ancestors, walked the planet with all 12 strands of DNA fully awake. They had gifts and abilities that enabled them to do may things that we can not. Somehow during evolution, the use of most of our DNA was suppressed. The two gifts of DNA associated with the two strands of DNA that remain awake and functioning are creativity and logic. Creativity has enabled us to manifest our visions, beautify the environment, and mold the world to make life comfortable and interesting. Logic developed to help us understand the world around us. Beginning with the creation stories, logic enabled us to develop language, math, science, and systems of governments and social status.
The four strands of DNA awakening within us right now develop gifts that will help us evolve into the Fifth Dimension and beyond. These are the skills that will enable us to perceive thoughts and energy, communicate with energy, and work with our Energy Webs. We are already starting to work with these gifts but we are just scratching the surface of our potential. Telepathy, prophecy, manifestation and healing, when developed to their full potential, will enable us to function as whole beings within the new dimension of the Fifth World. In the Fifth World, we will experience nonverbal communication within the loving space of the heart-- we will be able to perceive time lines in order to experience the past, all dimensions of the present, and the future-- we will be able to hold clear thoughts and have them manifest instantly-- and we will experience a merging of our Spirit Essence with our mental and physical bodies that will bring total health and comfort. In other words, the development of these four strands of DNA will bring us into a Wholeness of Being where we will live as ONE with each other, the planet and the Universe, as creators of our existence.
