Hi everyone,
Please note a few updates:
- the Buffalo News misprinted the date, time & place (arrghh!) for the Gaia
festival in the Gusto. Most of you know when it is, but just in case!
- the website has been updated- simplified and a downloadable schedule with
events info is available on the site as well.
- we have a few spaces left for the workshops, if anyone is entertaining
doing one or both, please let me know asap- we are open to working with your
budget if need be- no one turned away. Please note: the FULL DAY workshop is
at the East Aurora Unitarian Universalist Church on Saturday 11/11/06
10am-6pm. The Half Day workshop is being held at YogaMa studio at Healing
Waters 11/12/06 11:30am-3:30pm. There is more info on this on the website.
Email or call me if you have any questions!
Please get the word out! Email your friends, bring your circles, this is
going to be a weekend full of wonderful Earth connection and community
building!
Peace & Blessings~
Stephanie Hamberger
Gaia Festival Organizer

groups??? Thanks: )

Soul Pilgrim Presents
THE GAIA FESTIVAL
An Earth Centered Weekend Celebrating Our Ancient Connection
Featuring a Weekend of Workshops With Starhawk
www.gaiafestival.com

Event Details:
When: Nov. 10th. 2006 - Nov. 12th. 2006
Where: Unitarian Universalist Church- 94 Buffalo St.
East Aurora, New York 14052
www.gaiafestival.com

Come join us in celebrating our connection to the Earth and the Wild Divine
in us all through art, film, drumming and workshops featuring one of the
most respected voices in modern earth-based spirituality and activism,
Starhawk.

The Gaia Festival began out of a love of the land, and from the recognition
that Western New York is a sacred space just waiting for us to reclaim!
This is an Earth-friendly, Earth-centered event welcome to women, men and
children of all faiths.

Gaia is the Earth Goddess of abundance and thankfulness. In Greek tradition,
Gaia stretched out at the beginning of time, becoming the Earth. She is the
Earth-Mother, giving sustenance to all beings who walk her hills and swim
her oceans. So sacred is Gaia's body that any promise made with one hand on
the earth is irrevocable. She is Eithinoha, Mother Earth of the Iroquois.
She is Tlalteuctli of the Aztecs and Pachamama of the Incans. She is the
African Ala and the Celtic Tailtu. Known by many more names, She represents
our innate connection to the Earth.

Some of the featured events include:

€ Friday 11/10 5-10pm: Opening Night of the Festival featuring Screening
"Signs Out of Time", A documentary on archeologist Marija Gimbutas, who
found that Europe's origins lay in a cooperative, peaceful, neolitihic
Goddess culture. Her theories challenge conventional archaeology,
spirituality, theology, and religious studies, while inspiring artists,
feminists, environmentalists and activists. (co-produced by Starhawk and
Donna Read) followed by film discussion with the filmmakers, reception and
drumming performance by Buffalo's own Daughters of Creative Sound and Gaia's
Tribe Belly Dancers

€ Friday 11/10- 6:30pm- Opening of "Invoking the Muse: Calling Forth the
Divine Feminine" an art exhibit featuring a retrospective of masks and
