Since most of you are personal friends at this point I forget that
not everyone is at the same place on the page.

Path of the Earth Temple, emerged from a discussion between Dana and
I regarding several things. The most important being the sensitivity
of her children to environmental toxins, and my increasing
sensitivity to such things. Several days and long discussions later
the goal for a self sufficient eco-villiage emerged. Someplace where
regardless of how the system breaks down, what weather changes occur,
what poisons are released upon the earth itslf we will be able to
raise safe healthy children. Also a place from which we can actually
work to improve the health and stability of the Earth itself using
organic agricultural techniques. Recycling and reusing everything
possible in as many ways as possible. Energy work heal the our
mother earth itself.

We decided the best way to work toward this goal is to officially
become a non- profit religious orginization. That at least
eliminates some of our costs as far as taxes go. We do have a kitty
started. Essentially its a jar in which I throw my end of the week
change, to help defray any and all costs as well as well grow a bit
of a savings. After all the paperwork is coming out of our pockets.
If anyone wants to help support this endeavor financially, I'd be
thrilled with returnable bottles or even your spare change whenever
we get together. We are building slwoly so we don't need a lot right
now.

As we are growing and changing, we've realized, that even among folks
who are totally behind this eco villiage. Not everyone is ready for
a leap from city life to commune living in one fell swoop. I think
that's myself included. <grin> not to mention enough acerage to
support a community is going to be quite expensive and is down the
road some where. We are looking at the possibility of taking
advantage of vacant lots within the city, when the money is
available. Put up some green houses there. Begin learning what we
need of organic greenhouse gardening before its necessary for life.
perhaps even fill in the gaps within the local community that the
growing lack of social spending is allowing. English language
classes. Adult literacy. Heck even a nice warm greenhouse for a
couple of elderly folks to sit in and teach a few younger kids how to
knit. This is the vision. Where reality goes... well Dana's better
at steps than I am. I'm good at big picture<grin> hmmm or maybe its
grand vision. LOL I think grand vision is what I see for the eco
villiage.

Does this mean we expect all members of this board to be willing to
jump into the whole eco villiage idea? Not at all. As stated in the
beginning, personal growth and health is of the utmost importance.
We all have different places to be, different places we CAN be. The
only expectations we have of anyone else is that you be open and
respectful of other people. Everything else depends on who you are
and who you grow to become.

Did that answer the questions you guys have? I am thinking I should
periodically repost this as the board grows. What do you guys think?

Jo
