Introducing myself...
I grew up in Linton as did my husband. I have a masters degree in
education and he has a masters degree in business. I used to teach full-
day kindergarten in Evansville, but I currently stay home now with my
three daughters: Peyton, 4, Aspen, 2, and Brittyn, 1. My oldest
daughter was diagnosed at Vanderbilt on the moderate/severe cut off for
autism. She has made much progress with sensory issues, but still needs
much improvement in any academic skills. She is minimally verbal--the
words we hear are appropriate but not used on a functional basis. We
see Dr. Hulseman in Indy as her DAN practitioner (she herself has a
child with autism). We also do private therapy in Bloomington. We just
recently moved back to Linton after much moving (5 homes in 5 years) so
that as a family we could have the support of extended family.
I am excited about Playnet--with all of our moves it has been
isolating, so it is nice to make a connection with people who
understand the pervasiveness of autism.
