First of all, I want to thank everyone who attended last night's meeting. You had great discussion of many topics going around the table, and I think we could have all talked even longer! WE MISSED YOU IF YOU COULD NOT ATTEND! If you didn't receive notice of the meeting, please let us know how we can better keep you posted of meetings and events.
THANK YOU to our two new members who have taken on the role of developing our new Mentor Progam and helping fit incoming members with someone who can support their questions and concerns by providing information and support to meet their needs. (I didn't know if you would mind me putting your first names up in this post).
LOTS of other ideas are in the works...a possible fundraiser, restructuring meetings, developing a column or submissions to the newspaper, an actual website, and more! THANK YOU to everyone who shared great ideas to help us better serve our local families. Your membership and involvement is greatly appreciated!
We plan to follow up these ideas and discussions with a meeting June 15th at 6:30 at Saron. If you will be bringing children to the meeting, please let us know a few days in advance so we can plan adequate materials for their activites, and appropriate adult supervision. If you would be willing to help with children's activities one meeting a year, please also let us know so we can develop a schedule.
We also want to invite you to come to Wonderlab in Bloomington with PLAYNET on Friday, June 8th from 1 pm - 3 pm. You can post any questions about this event to the list, or e-mail me privately.
There will be NO meeting in July.
The tentative date for the PLAYNET Family Gathering is August 25th. Location Linton Park - Roy Clark Building. Time to be announced.
KID's FAIR will be September 8th. Our booth has been award winning the past two years...see the feature photo on our PLAYNET homepage to see our booth last year with the spectacular barn built by one of our members. We won best booth 2006 as voted upon by other vendors! We also won second place for our booth in 2005 based upon judges ratings. Over 1,000 people visit Kid's Fair so it is an excellent way for us to get the word out about our group.
