Hi Carolina,I had to wait too---but it was more because of the medications I was on. So many of these medications we take for our hearts are not good for the babies, so it is much better to not risk that. Also- talk to your OB/GYN. Mine knew that I would be "high risk" and we went over who I should go see. You need to be your own advocate---just plan it the best you can and then it is up to God. :)

My cardiologist mentioned to me that I have to wait at least a 1 yr. after my PFO closure to even think about getting pregnant. My primary Dr. had told me that I have to go through tests to make see how my blood clotting is and then go from there. Its only been 3 months since my surgery, but it makes me nervous thinking about it and having so many complications. I wish you the best!Carolina
Denise <goldilocks35@yahoo.com> wrote:Hi Carolina,I am 10 days away from my due date. I have had a few follow-ups with my cardiologist, and he does not forsee me having any issues. My stroke was two years ago---my due date! How Ironic! They told me I could never have kids because they didn't want to operate- I inisited that they operate. I have been going to the dr. every week as they consider me high risk but ironically my biggest complication hasn't been my heart but my blood---I had a VSD repair at 6 weeks old and picked up an anti-S antibody and my husband has the S Antigen. So our bloods don't mesh, so they check the baby each week and my blood every other week.If you are worried about getting pregnant- talk to your cardiologist. Mine liked how I healed after my surgery and feels I am as good as new.

Amy Brogna <amybrogna6@yahoo.com> wrote:How interesting!I had Costochondritis a few months ago too!It lasted about a month or so but it was SUPER painful.Anyone else?
Carolina Maldonado <cmaldonado82@yahoo.com> wrote:Hi there,I feel the same way. I feel depressed at times also. I also get backaches. Just the other day I was having horrible chest pain. It felt like someone was stabbing me in the chest and the pain was also going into my back. So I got really scared and called my Dr. I went in and they did an EKG and then she sent me to the hospital to do a chest x-ray. Luckily everything was ok, but my Dr. said that I have Costochondritis which is a inflammation in the tissue and cartilage between the breastbone and the ribs which causes chest pain. Great huh? Just what I needed!CarolinaLeigh Anne DelRay <delraygoddess@yahoo.com> wrote:So I thought I would ask you guys because I can't really find anything
else on the web about this. Have any of you experienced post-operative
depression? or maybe depression caused by a plavix and aspirin combo?
I have found a little evidence of the plavix causing depression. Also,
I have had terrible backaches since my pfo closure (Nov. 11th 2007)
and I have never had a backache before ever really. But now they are
constant? Am I just going crazy?
thanks you guys, anyone.
