Hi everyone
As part of a research study I'm involved in, on PFO and migraine, the
doctor has said I'll need to have a trans-oesophageal echocardiogram. I
know it's silly, but this prospect really terrifies me as I've a real
phobia about vomiting, including even just retching. She said that I'd
be lightly sedated, and have a throat spray to numb the area, but that
I'd need to be conscious enough to swallow the tube when they tell me
to. Please can anyone who's had this pocedure tell me -- honestly --
what it's like. Is it as awful as it sounds? Or even just mildly
unplesant? I do have the option to pull out of the study, and am
seriously thinking of doing this to escape this test!
Info very much appreciated!
Thanks
Sarah
