Hi! I am 27 Years old and just had a PFO closure on Tuesday. I had
a stroke in February. (Don't go on birth control...that is why I
stroked...you make more clots and with your PFO being active, it
isn't a good idea.) I was only able to get mine closed because I am
not a good canidate for Coumidin therapy. I want to be able to have
children. You can ask to go on the CardioSeal or Star Occular trail
perhaps. They might not let you becuase you haven't had a stroke but
it is worth a try. We are part of a new medical era in that PFO's
are new to the medical field...so they are learning about them more
and more everyday. You might just need to show them how your PFO
interfere's with your daily life and that you don't want to wait for
a stroke to happen.
I hope that helps.
