hey all this question is actually not for me its for my mom. Shes
also got a PFO, but her is open all the time. Shes had at least 1 TIA
probably more, but doesnt have insurance so only went into the
hospital for one. The others were just brief flashes, not full-blown
with the numbness and everything else. Anyways, shes looking into
having it closed in Germany this winter, because the doctor whose
done the most closures(in the entire world) practices in germany and
shes going to Europe anyways, so she figured it was a good time. Shes
already scheduled for it in mid-october. Shes wondering about post-op
though. I told her to expect palpitations, from reading evverything
people here have said about post-op, but shes wondering how bad are
they. How much time off work did those of you whove had the closure
have to take? Were the palpitations just minor or were they enough to
keep you from normal activity, those sort of things. Shes a piano
teacher and is trying to figure out what shes going to need to do
post-op as far as recovery time and all that.

Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

-Nina

Hi Nina, I think it depends on each person. I felt ok about a week after, but I was on limited activity for a month. I wasn't allowed to lift anything...
