Re: [PFOSupport] Introduction

Hi Anne,
I have hemiplegic migraines too, and I have had 2 strokes from prolonged migraine auras.  I have symptoms very similar to yours.  It was discovered last summer that I had a PFO and I had it closed, and I had seen some improvement with my auras in the beginning, but now they are worsening again.  It has been 6 months since my PFO closure.  I also have Lupus, though, and the doctors think I have inflammation in my brain which is causing the auras, and not just regular migraines, so I don't know what to tell you.  I am not an ordinary migraine case.  But I can tell you that the PFO closure was painless, and not uncomfortable, and that my heart is better now, and I don't have heart palpatations like I used to.  I used to have alot of palpatations and since the surgery they have disappeared.  That is one big improvement I have seen from the surgery.
I hope that your bubble echo goes well, please let us know what the doctors find.
Have you ever been screened for MS or Lupus?
Vi
