I went on a trip with CFHI, and although it was a good trip, it was 100% comprised of students and was really geared toward an educational experience where students shadowed or observed practicing clinicians.  Most of the students, at that, were pre-med (2 were PA students) and had no clinical or medical experience. Although this was a great opportunity for students, it meant that actual clinical work was *extremely* limited. Checking blood pressure was considered a big clinical opportunity. Again-it was a good experience, but I would not recommend CFHI for a practicing clinician looking to actually do some “work”

 

I’m not sure about the dates, but peaceworkmedical.com often does short trips and is PA run

there is a small town on the Baja called Mulaje that has a clinic run by volunteer physician. If you are interested I will try to get a contact number for you. contact rotary international and there is a clinic on the island of Roatan off the coast of Honduras  that always needs help. email me if interested. Here are some contacts for you. the clinic in Mulage is near Santa Rosalia on the Baja. Jim Christopher is the contact person. jimaniebaja@... His direct phone in Mulage(pronounced moolahey) is 011526151530505. Also Dr Edeberto Romo in Santa Rosalia at 011526151520789.( he speaks spanish).
