Overeater-Beaters is a support group for men and women who wish to overcome compulsive eating by using methods frequently referred to as “Non-diet” or “Intuitive Eating”. There have been many authors who have detailed advice in following this method. Geneen Roth, Evelyn Tribole, and Laurel Mellin are among many who have written books on this subject. The purpose of this group is to provide a safe place to discuss the issues that arise as we rid ourselves of diet or disease mindset. This group is not affiliated with Overeater's Anonymous. Contrary to OA's 12-step principles, we do not believe that we are permanently "diseased" Rather, we believe that it is within our power as individuals to change our beliefs about our relationship with food.

Please note: This is not a weight loss group. Many people who compulsively overeat do have the symptom of obesity, but focusing on curing the symptom is not the answer. The symptom will return unless we deal with the underlining cause.
