Hey Zak
While there are sites that are out for the buck, you may consider joining
MPWH. I do not work for them but it's the best one I have found. The money that
you spend pales in comparison to the friendships and support you receive. Get
over the $$ issue
IMHO

A dudette....How awesome is that!!!! When? Did I know this????? I'm so out of
the loop these days!!!
Man, how life has changed for all of us in the past couple of years! I remember
the first time I met you and came to your picnic, that ended up in one wild
night at the City Walk. All the wonderful people I met that night and through
the years. Your famous strawberries, oh my.....I'm still blushing with that
experience!
A dudette....that is awesome! I'm just shaking my head and so happy for you
Tonya, that is awesome! Have you seen pictures of Robbie's new baby girl?? She
is so pretty! I guess we all have to grow up at some point in time.
God, I've got to get back to work!

Hi Zak,
I'm going to piggy back on Christina's reply to you, if you don't
mind. :o)
You aren't looking at our little skin issue as a curse, are you? You
know, I used to think the same way...17.5 years ago. Yes, on May 29,
1990, I was diagnosed (not that that date just sticks in my mind or
anything). :o) I dated for those short periods of time, then found
something wrong about the relationship and moved on. That's the way
I was. Then one day, I just said, you know, I'm going to learn to be
me. I learned how to change my own oil, bought a house, did
everything around it that needed to be done. I learned about myself
and how to be independent. I joined a H dating site in 2001. I
kissed some frogs before I finally met my prince. We were married in
2005 and are now expecting a little dudette. :o) I have met some
outrageously awesome friends over these past many years...to include
Christina. I look back and you know, I would've never met her (or
the others) and never had the experiences I have had if I didn't have
our little gift. I can honestly say now, that if I had a chance to
give up something now, I don't think that's what I would choose.
Just my opinion...after 17.5 years. (Actually, I thought this in
2001) Hope this gives you a little glimmer of hope as well.
You are more than welcome to attend our social on December 7th.
Trust me when we say we understand that everyone has a life! There
will be other socials in the future (looking at February now). If
you can't make this one, it's okay...just look for the next one. I
have been the one that has always planned the socials, but in
my 'condition' these days, I have someone helping me...and she's
doing an outstanding job! :o) If you choose to join us, just let me
know (I'm the one to RSVP to).
Oh, and Zak, you are definitely not alone!! :o)

First, I say go do the work thing, always good to network, giggle, giggle...
Well hopefully no one reads these boards anymore, especially the guys I've dated
from here, giggle, giggle...I've had a couple relationships and like you, some
have lasted longer than other's, some more patient than others as well. Some
very short and without going into details, "we" just didn't connect on whatever
level it might have been, but it was never herpes. I am however friends with a
few of them still and that is always nice that it didn't end horibbly, we just
didn't connect on that 1 level.
I have to say, I preferred dating outside the community, because 6 yrs ago the
community was to small for me and I just didn't want to have people (guys) say
oh, I've dated her.......Or even have women say, oh I've dated him and oh so did
so and so...So, I stayed out of the community for dating and yes it was harder
and a lot more lonely probably, but that was MY choice. Each person has to
decided for themselves when they are ready to date, when they are ready for the
talk and if they want to keep it in the community, etc.
The best thing I did do, was go to a national event, even though I didn't "hook"
up or have really ever hooked up at an event. It was great to go and see so
many people and so many people from so many different walks of live having
herpes and being just as normal as me. There were HOT, HOT guys, even prettier
girls, and some not so pretty people. I saw rich people, poor people and all
different races as well. It was such a wonderful experience to not feel so
alone. I made some great friends as well and that was another blessing. We had
1 common thing, but a great friendship has grown out of this situation. So, if
I had it to do all over, I'd probably be ok with having herpes. I have great
friends, I have an awesome kick ass husband and I have friends all over the
southeast, that I can email or hopefully visit at a moments notice if need be.
I know I rambled, but I hope something helps and works for you.
Also on a side note, Jacksonville tries to get together from time to time and
you are always welcome to head north if you want to hang out. We usually do a
brunch or happy hour that always turns into more than it should, giggle,
giggle...
Take care,
Christina

of time and most continue on as friends of mine. I have been in love, but
sometimes fall in love for those short periods of time....longer than one night.
So its now my curse, and I'm really down and out about it. You said it's been 6
years, have you been in relationships? Have you found guys for periods of time
too? Are you tryin to find someone whether or not afflicted? How's it been for
you?
I really wanted to go to the H20 thing Dec 7, but last night was invited to a
business Christmas deal that night by a girl in a business frat i'm in. I'm nto
itnerested in dating her or anything, she wants to introduce me to people and
just have a date. I told her I might be busy that night but I'd get back to her
soon. It seems like it will be a fun night with H20 too, and I'd really like to
meet other people.
Anyway, thanks for replying. Your words were good to see, it helps not to feel
alone. I have to get ready for a presentation now, been a long Thanksgiving
weekend, keep in touch,
Zak

First, I'm not looking to make a buck, giggle, giggle, or at least from you. I
just hope you have found someone to talk to and these sites are a great place to
start. When I was diagnosed 6 yrs ago, I thought it was the end of the world
and I'd be alone forever. Finding friends, male or female was a great help and
still is from time to time.
If you ever want to chat, ask a question, vent, I'm pretty good at listening.
Take care and I hope to hear from ya,

you!!! Trust me, they are out there!!!!

Yes, an RSVP is definitely recommended. No, there are no fees to
attend, however, you must pay for your entry into the club(s). Oh,
and any food/drink/extras that you want.
Hope this helps!

Oktoberfest at Celebration (the community off of I-4 and Hwy. 192)
Saturday, October 13
6:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
On October 13th, Celebration Town Center transforms before your very
eyes as the falling leaves of the season drop on Market Street in the
all new Fall Festival known as Oktoberfest. Listen for the rustling
of leaves, relax by the lakeside, and enjoy the live music with MPwH
friends in this one-of-a-kind themed extravaganza.
Celebration Town Center will take on a "Rocktoberfest" feel with the
high energy classic rock of legendary rock band Orleans ("Still the
One", "Dance With Me","Dancin' In The Moonlight", "Love Takes Time")
and John Cafferty with "Tunes" (The Beaver Brown Band - "On the Dark
Side", "Living in the C-I-T-Y", "Tender Years").
Hop on a hayride, dance to the terrific live music, paint a pumpkin,
or just stroll and enjoy the (hopefully) crisp fall air and enjoy...
There is something for everyone at this one of a kind Fall Festival,
presented by Lexin, and sponsored in-art by Schenck, Celebration
Hotel, Axis Magazine, and Warsteiner, the premium German beer.
Come enjoy the atmosphere and live music with other friends!! Just
look for the ORANGE balloon in the Town Center area!!
Your hostess for this social will be Lisa!!

HI
I just found this group. Am Looking forward to hearing from all of
you. I read where you are bowling, have a great time. I uploaded a
couple of pics. Think I go read old messages and get a feel of the
group.
The Orlando H2O group requests the honor of your presence!
We're going BOWLING and then having a PARTY afterwards!
Time: Saturday August 11 7:30 pm
Place: WINTER PARK BOWL (Bowl America)
1111 W. Fairbanks Ave
Winter Park, FL
Cost: $4.55 per game
About Us: We'll meet around 7:30 in the food service area
inside. Look for the RED ballon. We will begin bowling at 8 pm.
Location : Winter Park Bowl (Bowl America) is located at 1111
W. Fairbanks Avenue
(near the intersection of Fairbanks and Highway 17-92)
From I-4, exit onto Fairbanks Avenue (Hwy 426) and go east towards
Winter Park. Travel about 1 mile on Fairbanks. Immediately after
crossing Highway 17-92, Winter Park Bowl is on the left side.
From 436, take Aloma and pass through downtown Winter Park. Stay in
right lane, and the street becomes Fairbanks Avenue. Look for Winter
Park Bowl on the right, just before reaching Hwy 17-92 intersection .
Particulars: Most people play 2 games, so your cost should be about
$10. Shoe rental is free for groups with 12 or more people (otherwise
it's $3.20). So we need to get an estimate of the number of people
coming. Please RSVP, by email (Orlandoh2o@...)!!!! Even if you
don't want to bowl, you can have fun being a cheerleader.
Food and drink is available at the bowling alley.
After bowling.....we will go to FIDDLER'S GREEN PUB just down the
street from the bowling alley
Fiddler's Green (544 west Fairbanks) is a very cool antique style
IRISH PUB with Live Music. They have a whole room filled with dart
boards. Great food also. View the link to Fiddlers green,,,
http://www.fiddlersgreenorlando.com/home.htm
It will be a lot of fun! Hope you can make it. Please reply (via
email) and let us know that you are coming!
Email address is Orlandoh2o@...
Hope to see you there!
Tonya
If you are new to the group and have never been to a social but would
like to attend, come on down!! If you're a bit nervous, that's
okay! Let us know and we'll meet you there a little earlier in order
to make you more comfortable. We really are cool people…and we don't
bite!!
Doug,
Good luck on your search and it's nice to read that you don't seem to be
limiting your search to just the H community. Before I met my husband I didn't
limit myself, however I did meet my husband on an H dating site called
positivesingles.com. It's true you just never know where you will find love!
Good luck and keep us posted!

I know that if I want a companion, I have to date and disclose until

The largest hurdle that I see other people dealing with is disclosure

If my chances of finding a companion are cut to 1/3, then I just have

it as one of the hazards of dating.
By joining this forum and others, I know I will increase the chances
