Hi all,
Here's the final arrangements for the picnic coming up this month!!
Come out once or to both!!
Friday, March 12th - 8pm (until at least 10pm)
Meet at Friday's Front Row (in the bar area)
8126 International Drive (just south of Sand Lake Road)
Phone - 407.363.1414
Just look for the smiley face balloon or ask for Tonya's party!!
Saturday, March 13th - 10am - 3pm
Orlando's 3rd Annual Picnic!!
I've switched parks this year, just to try something new.
Turkey Lake Park -Pavilion 1 (or you can ask for Tonya's party)
3401 S. Hiawasee Road
Orlando, 32935
Phone - 407.299.5534
Entrance fee to the park is $4 per car, $2 if only one person in the
car.
There are no balloons allowed in the park, as the Turkey Lake Park is
operated as a natural system. Dogs are allowed in designated areas
of the park, however, not in the picnic area. There is NO alcoholic
beverages allowed. As per park contract, I'm supposed to let you
know that the speed limit is 15mph inside the park.
Ok, moving on...there is a place for us to play horseshoes,
volleyball, etc. There is also a petting zoo and a playground for
the kids.
This year it is BYOF (BRING YOUR OWN FOOD) and BYOB (BRING YOUR OWN
NON-ALOCHOLIC BEVERAGE). I will be supplying the grill supplies and
charcoal, paper goods (cups, plates, plasticware, napkins), and
condiments (relish, mayo, ketchup, mustard, pickles, etc). If you
think you might need anything else, you might want to bring it along.
Just fyi, there is a high school regatta (crew boats) going on that
afternoon. We will be able to watch them from our pavilion!!
Nighttime - March 13th -
In the past there has been several of us that jaunted on down to the
Universal City Walk for the evening. This is not going to be
advertised as finding a common place to meet is not the easiest thing
to do there (especially on a Sat. night!). If tradition holds true,
any details to make yet another trip to the City Walk will be
discussed at the picnic. If you are unable to make the picnic, but
are interested in going to City Walk if the trip is planned, send me
an email and I will send you the details from there.
As far as hotel arrangements...
The Turkey Lake Park is not too far from International Drive and even
closer to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure. Any hotel in that
area would be fine. Just a suggestion, there is a Holiday Inn
directly across from Universal Studios, if they have any vacancies.
Most hotels also offer shuttle service to the Studios as well.
So, that's it for the big weekend! I hope that you're able to come
on out and join us for Friday night and Saturday afternoon...to both
or just one!! You'll meet a great bunch of people and have a good
time too!!
If you have any questions, either post them or slide me an email!!
Hope to see ya'll soon!
Tonya
