Re: [Optical Labs] "my face is just toooooo wide"

LOL. Yes..it sux big time! I'm wearing an 8 year old pair of Linda Evans'
in a 57mm eyesize...cuz they fit me properly! I also wear a neat old pair
of rimless Cazal's, for which I cut custom lenses to fit my wide head. It
worked perfectly, so that's why I want to do it again with the following
frames::
(I'm in Canada, but these frames should be available everywhere)
The frames I'm going to try are the Kenneth Cole Whimsical series. There
are 7 different frames in the series, and at least 3 are suitable for men.
Try the "a", "d", or "v" models. A and D are "metal (probably monel), and V
is titanium. They have 18 to 21mm bridges, but only 135mm temples so you
may need to lengthen the temples yourself. (actually...if you're a lab
tech or skilled optician, you could choose any of the 7 frames in this
series, and just hand-cut a pattern to whatever lens size/shape you
wish...these are all true 4-point rimless frames. No nylon wires at all.)
FWIW....I have several traditional mens frames in my books and in
stock....square or aviator shapes in sizes up to 58mm. So...if traditional
mens frames appeal to you, there are a few styles still available out there.
Let me know if you need any more info!
Sherry.
