If you do eye care in any way or just want to be a helper, we really do need
your help!

In the past I have mentioned the need for eye care specialists to go with us
to Honduras the last 2 weeks of February. We (International Health Services)
just had our Team Selection meeting on Saturday. The good news is we have about
90 medical and support people plus translators signed up to go. Unfortunately,
we only have one eye specialist signed up to go. We need at least one more and
two would be even better.

We have had several serious inquirers and from that we decided to develop two
eye care teams and are getting eye glasses and other team supplies for those two
teams ready.

The two week mission is from 16 Feb until 4 March. However, since our need is
so important, we are willing to have a split where we could use a person even if
they were available for just the first week.

in nature and does not give a LOT of detail about an eye team but you can get a
glimpse of the important medical work we do. We also send 6 or 7 medical clinic
teams plus one or two surgery teams each year. A good place to go on the site
is to the NewsBreak newsletters which tell about our daily work and they also
have team maps which gives you a good idea of the overall work we do each
February throughout the country. There are also some articles there about some
of the past eye team work. Some of the expenses are "subsidized" so this is a
good project to go on.

Please help us… this is so important. We go to the very needy places of
Honduras and the joy we bring is better than any other vacation I have ever
done. Honduras is a beutiful country with much to see and do away from the work
we go to do. If this trip does not work for you, we do this every year and
perhaps it will work in the future. Also, let other eye care and medical
friends know of our important need for helpers.
