I sincerly hope that this message is some sort of joke. If you
think opticians are just "glorified sales people" then you insult
every certified optician who has worked very hard to become a
skilled technician. Sure there are some opticians out there with
little training and very poor skills, but they soon find themselves
over their heads and hopefully fired before they make serious
mistakes that can damage a patient''s vision.
I also struggled with the amount of math, at first, but then I
dedicated myself to be coming a skilled technician. The math is
nessacary to understand the complicated optics behind every
pair of glasses. Understanding the optics enables us to
dispense with confidence and handle most problems that arise.
