Welcome to this group. I did borrow the name as a quote from a child 12 step fellowship. This is a site for those who wish to use the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous in their recovery from alcoholism. Being quit is not a requirement, all are welcome who have a desire to be sober or who are sober.
What we offer is a message board which is a great way to communicate with other members of the group, much like fellowship before and after the meetings. It provides a way to vent, ask questions and support one another anytime day or night. There are ‘voice’ meetings where you can actually hear one another. Meetings are run just like a face to face meeting, with chairperson, format and focusing on recovery from alcoholism by using the program of Alcoholics Anonymous.
You will need a microphone if you wish to talk during the meetings although that is not necessary. If you don't have a microphone you are usually welcome to type your share. You will need computer speakers to hear the meeting. The meetings use Paltalk messenger. Go to www.paltalk.com to download it. Follow the directions given on the download page.
Our meeting room is On Our Path to Freedom. It is located in the Health section, and under the subsection: Overcoming Addictions in the rooms of Paltalk. Right now there are no meetings being held as there have not been enough interest. I would be willing to hold impromptu meetings by request. IM me at my hi_cl_2000 yahoo user name. I'm usually awake and at the computer between 5pm to 10pm eastern standard time.
There are several meetings held daily on Paltalk. I like the EleventhStep, the DownUnder and Sobertalk groups as supportive AA meetings. You may like one of the others, take your pick. I will warn you that one of the groups is a very adult ie R rated oriented room and lives up to it's name.
