Christians with Hoarding, SerenityBayHoarding
This is an exclusive group for hoarders who are trying to understand their illness. It is a closed group for those who are struggling and dealing with their issues. There are many aspects, which contribute to this psychological illness. If you don't own the problem you will never recover. This is about obsession recovery from our stuff, it is intertwined with many other factors. We are here for Fun, Christian Fellowship and Encouragement. I am not an expert in the field but a fellow traveller who is trying to find recovery and looking for friendship. Rest assured, you are not alone. If you have trouble making decisions on where to start and what to toss, you have come to the right place. Let's work together on downsizing and tossing our clutter. "Less is More"…our vision is to have homes that are "User Friendly" and "Company Ready" at all times. This will be a safe place to vent and share our journey. Blessings, Anna http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/SerenityBayHoarding/ |

Jewish-Scrupe-Group
This group is for Jewish OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) sufferers with scrupulosity obsessions. CBT methods (including ERP- Exposure and Response prevention) are the interventions which have been proven to be best for working with OCD, but those with scrupulosity often find it difficult to use them with religious obsessions, since they believe they are disappointing G-d by doing so. That makes this one of the hardest obsessions to deal with. This group is a place where those with religious- Jewish- scrupe can discuss and help each other recognize the difference between "because G-d wants me to" and an OCD obsession, and is moderated by a Jewish CBT therapist who can help them face and deal with the obsessions (and the continual "shailah asking").Members have the option to remain anonymous and conceal their email addresses. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Jewish-Scrupe-Group |

Parents of Teens and Young Adults with OCD (OCD-POTAYA)
This is a group for parents of teens and young adults, from middle school to college age. Our children have needs and present problems to us that are quite different from young children and older adult children with OCD. As their parents, we must deal with puberty, social interactions, sexuality, medication and therapy resistance, driving, constant testing of the rules, school issues including 504 Plans and IEPs, transitions through different school levels - from elementary through to college, and the ultimate challenge of transition to adulthood and independence. This will be an active group, geared to helping each other to solve day to day problems and provide the necessary emotional support that we all need. We are fortunate to have Dr. Charles Mansueto and Dr. Lori Kasmen, well known to parents who attend the OCF Conferences, to work with us as advisors to the group. Please go to the URL below to join. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OCD-POTAYA/ |

Pure-O-OCD
This is a group for people with obsessive compulsive disorder whose compulsions are primarily mental in nature. This is commonly given the misnomer "Pure O" or "pure obsessional" because the compulsive behavior is less visible to outsiders and occasionally goes unnoticed even by the sufferer. Obsessions frequently include but are not limited to a fear of harming others or oneself, doubts about sexual orientation, fear of being a sexual deviant or predator, fear of not understanding others or of being misunderstood, obsession with personal past or pasts of others, fear of lying, and fear of death and disease. Mental compulsions include but are not limited to seeking reassurance from others or from within, confessing, thinking "neutralizing" thoughts, retracing or replaying events, checking for sexual arousal, and "mental checking" or intentionally bringing up an obsession to see if it still produces anxiety. This group is a non-judgemental safe place to discuss the OCD experience and help each other achieve better mental health through information and understanding. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pure_o_ocd |
