This 100 hour Trigger Point Therapy program, based on Drs. Travell and Simons Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction work, is fundamental for any advanced massage therapist. A thorough understanding of activation, perpetuation, treatment of and recovery methods for myofascial dysfunction allows therapists to help with pain management of many different sources. Students review the Anatomy covered in Basic then guided through additional focus on muscles relating to the area being introduced during each phase of continued study.  The course will also cover an in-depth study of Systems Anatomy, whereby students are taught about the Nervous, Cardiac, Respiratory, Digestive, Circulatory, Skeletal, Integumentary, Muscular, Endocrine, Excretory and Reproductive System.  

As an introduction to the theories and mechanisms of disease, this course focuses on the pathological conditions most likely to be encountered in a massage therapy practice. Special attention will be given to precautions, contraindications and indications for massage sessions when working with massage clients exhibiting specific conditions. When and how it is appropriate to refer clients to other health care practitioners will be included
