Years after receiving treatment in Chicago at S.A.F.E.-Alternatives® I decided to design a support group for people who are serious about recovering. If you say to yourself "THIS HAS TO STOP!" NoFEAR-S.A.F.E._Approved is a good start. Being recovered from self-injury is when you start acting instead of reacting to situations in your life that have built up inside of you; leaving the thought you have only one choice left. Our focus here is on recovery. There is a NO TRIGGER policy meaning talking "DIRECTLY" about injuring is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Here we talk about our feelings behind the self-injury actions. The group support is fantastic and the members have an understanding of fighting the urges you have along with many suggestions overcoming those intense moments. We have all experienced that feeling, so you will also learn that you are not alone. Are you ready to live your life injury free? If you say yes, then you are ready to begin on the road to being recovered!

I would also like to invite friends and family of self-injurers so they may also have support and an understanding about self-injury. I do understand that the struggle for you is also very difficult.
