Had a recent "conversation" with Spud, one of the leading censors of
this news blog. Spud's position is that the Indymedia Collective
decides what content remains here. So, They can censor this blog as
they see fit.

My position is that the public owns Indymedia. George Soros, CEO of
Indymedia.org, has allowed this website to be presented as a bastion
of free speech at every major social protest in the US for the last
18 years. I say that's enough to confirm public ownership.

At all of these large protests "activists" representing Indymedia
have offered this site to the public to use for free speech no matter
how controversial. No one offers IMC as a (shadowy,) collective-run
venue for speech.

the public owns Indymedia. The tens of millions of Americans who
were sold Indymedia outnumber the mysterious, oddly-tranquil
"collective" members.
