This poem is from my book, "Out of Cullen Street (A House Of Madness)",  which is described as an excellent therapeutic tool for both reader and writer. 

 

 

Anyone interested in the incredible abilities of the mind to heal and find sanity amidst violence, perversion and mental illness will identify with, and be touched, moved and inspired by, this fascinating true-life story.

I spent my first seventeen years in a violent household, where I experienced severe mental, physical and sexual abuse. I am diagnosed with a complex form of PTSD, major depression (severe & recurrent) and a dissociative disorder.

In addition to singing with the Albuquerque Symphony Adult Choir, I am a certified peer counselor for the mentally ill, a minister with Universal Ministries, a paraprofessional crisis/suicide line volunteer and a hypnotherapist.

I and my beloved husband of twenty-five years, John, live in Los Lunas, New Mexico. We have three children, four grandchildren, four cats and two dogs.
