Re: Detoxification through the Skin - Almost final draft

Dear Mark:

I wish to thank you for this excellent and very insightful article
in regard to detoxification. This is truly a great piece of work.

Mark, I have never used clay externally as your article suggests,
but at some point I am sure going to do this now. Thank you for
teaching me about this. I also learned a good deal else about
detoxification from your article as well.

Perhaps of interest to you is that the miraclous substance for me in
overcoming depression (and bipolar) in myself is bentonite, which is
also mentioned in regard to detoxification though the skin in your
article below.

Whenever I am depressed, I know that my gut is seriously shut down
from the standpoint of nutrient absorption. My gut may also be
seriously toxic when I am depressed as well.

Since the fall of 1999, I have regularly been using bentonite
dosages that are much higher than "what the books say". Whenever I
am depressed, I don't think anything of pouring five or six ounces
of liquid bentonite (Sonnes #7) in a very large glass, add two or
three heaping tablespoons of psyllium, and fill the rest of the
glass up with water. This gut purging routine has been amazingly
helpful to me in regard to correcting depression and intestinal
dysbiosis issues in myself, and I have used it many, many dozens of
times.

I have found that I really need to insure my stomach is as empty as
possible for this gut purge to work well. To do this I first use
digestive enzymes, and then later I use HCL (dosing up slowly while
monitoring for effect).

Perhaps needless to say is that I have also found that I have to
begin a probiotics replacement regime shortly afterward, as this
bentonite/psyllium/water gut purge seems to take out the good, the
bad, and the ugly, all at the same time.

I also use glutamine after a gut purge to help increase my
absorptive rate, as well as to help to rebuild my small intestines.

Mark, I'm sure glad to find someone such as yourself out there using
clay... as a simple, but very powerfully effective healing
modality... even though we are using it in different areas of the
body for a bit different reasons.

All the very best,

Allen

environment is going to only increase through time, as we continue
to pollute the environment and use heavy metals like mercury in
dentistry and medicine, any reasonable and cost effective method
that might reduce tissue loads of toxic metals and other poisonous
chemicals in our bodies will prove highly beneficial. Until recently
a select few doctors have been using intravenous chelation therapy
to eliminate toxic poison loads for both acute and chronic
exposures. Recently the movement has been toward oral applications
of chelation drugs and even more recently to transdermal
applications which seems convient, less expensive, and even more
effective. No matter which method of application (IV is very
expensive though useful for acute poisoning) synthetic drugs are
used that depend on specific biochemical dynamics that include the
sequestering of toxic materials out of their hiding places. Once
chelated the complex compounds need to be eliminated. Unfortunately
this is not easy or automatic and faulty avenues of exit can create
a nightmare for both patient and physician.
