The Adverse Effects of Common Herbs
This six-lesson course covers the potential adverse effects of fifty common herbal medicines. It includes an introduction to adverse effects and to drug-herb interactions, an overview of the millieu of drug-related iatrogenic injury as background to the problem of drug-herb interactions, and interview and research techniques to avoid problematic interactions. This course is unique in that it includes complete information from science, but also from traditional literature, from evaluated contemporary reports at the medherb.com adverse effects reporting site, and hundreds of reports gathered during 30 years of clinical experience by herbalist and course-author Paul Bergner, and 15 years of student and practitioner reports during his teaching career. This course is geared for intermediate and advanced herbal students, but could be appreciated by the allied health professional. Anticipated release: Fall 2004

First Course in Medical Herbalism
This course introduces the student to the routines that will develop skills as an herbalist, including reading, experimenting with the herbs personally, and giving them to others. Twelve of the most important herbs in contemporary herbalism are covered, with an emphasis on herbal actions on the human body, preparation methods, and safety considerations. Divided into six lessons. Course materials include two 90-minute lecture tapes, a course outline, and a course text written by Paul Bergner. This is a beginning course. Anticipated release: Fall 2004

The Vitalist Treatment of Acute Symptoms
This 12-lesson course covers the use of non-suppressive herbal, nutritional, and other treatments. Each lesson covers the relevant physiology, pathology, nutrition, pharmacology, herbal actions, and vitalist and constitutional considerations for the symptoms discussed. Class topics include:
