narcoleptics as targets   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #2040 of 2876 |
Well, since I am on a role and it is 1 am and I am in my usual state
of waking... meaning that I'll begin the cataplectic seizures..
regression into mass REM state soon and have to convince myself it's
just a series of dreams and keep my imagination from taking them
into living nightmares........ *bummer* I wanted to cover a topic I
am concerned about:
Narcoleptics are quickly becoming targets. Our sleep disorder is
being blamed for the high murder rates on the road. I recently read
an article that quoted: over 150,000 accidents last year were the
direct result of narcolepsy/people sleeping behind the wheel. This,
in fact, was untrue. I emailed the newspaper asking for an immediate
apology, but they, of course, ignored me. Sure, people were sleeping
behind the wheel, but over 80% of those were alcoholics who had
passed out, over 18% were non-narcoleptics including truck drivers
and elderly trying to make extra-long hauls, etc. etc. etc.
Next, the state of Oregon, and several other states on the East
Coast are beginning to blame the West Coast for an increase in
anfetamines on the legal market boosting the black market and
causing problems for this country. And, naturally, who is to blame
for this? The ADHD patients using it.. nah! Of course not! It is the
growing number of narcoleptics.
Social Security (who turned me down with extreme prejudiced and
biased.. and it says that on the paperwork!!! sheesh!) is beginning
to see a new concern in the growing rate of narcoleptics and wants
to afford covering it. Instead of reproportioning funds, they, of
course, are going to ask for higher taxes, and who is to blame:
narcolepsy.
How much longer before they prosecute us, put us up on the cross and
stick us on an island where we won't bother the normal people
anymore? They are working on driver license bans across the
country... they are working on a massively degrading advertising
spot by the 'Partnership to defeat the Scurge' people (btw, if you
care at all about narcoleptics.. blast these people to hell.. post
their contact info and tear em up) in order to make narcoleptics
realize what losers they are along with everyone else knowing it,
and force us to give up our ever vital meds. The places of
employment won't hire us and don't have to accomodate our handicap.
The State won't provide supplemental income, sleep labs want to
experiment on us with GHB again.. and on and on and on.
Look people, I know we are all exhausted, and fighting is hard for
us to do.. but we MUST fight. I don't care if we fall asleep on the
footsteps of washington, at least we'll have signs of protest in our
arms.
Narcoleptics are the next biggest target, and I am sincerely
concerned about this!! Anyone else see these trends coming?
