I agree w/ Bill - I took Provigil about a year or so ago and I still can't get my blood pressure back in a normal range. It mad my shake and my heart felt like it would jump out of my body. I took "Vacations" from the Provigil and that helped but as soon as I went back on it all the same symptoms would come back. Sadly I can't take anything for the N, I take xanax and lunesta at night so I can try to have a better nights rest. I also take Toprol and Hydrea (oral Cancer med) and they make me tired so I take them at night. I would really suggest seeing a cardio Dr. There are other med's out there. Some people can take Provigal with no problems but I have heard of many that can't tolerate it at all.

Subject: Re: [Narcolepsy-Chat] Provigil & Heart MurmurHI Cat,I hope you are seeing a neurologist. If you are not then you need to go see a heart doctor right away. There is other medicine out there besides provogil. When I took provigil they had to put me on Xynex because of the hallucenations it gave me. I found another doctor who put me on another medicine which dropped 3 other prescriptions to. I would get s econd opinion.Bill

for my idiopathic hypersomnia.
Last year I tried to take the Provigil and when I took 1 a day I
noticed a racing/irregular heartbeat and tightness of my chest. But
after a short period of taking it regularlly it didn't work (I hit a
point after he increased me to 2 a day where I could take my second
one and go take a long nap).
Well after I saw him this time he still wanted me to try to take the
Provigil (1/2 pill 2x a day). I took half this morning after I had
breakfast and now I can feel my heart (I've discribed it in the past
as my heart is racing the Dayton 500... fast in the straight away and
slowing in the curves...etc) beating really oddly and I keep trying
to take deep breathes but feel like I can't get any oxygen in.
One other thing my sleep doctor noticed yesterday was a heart murmur.
Could the provigil be making this worse? I am going to call my pcp
today and see what he wants to do now.
