In my family for at least 7 generations, it's been inherited through females
only. My two sons have narcolepsy, but my daughter does not. Yet she is
the carrier. Her sons may be susceptible, but I doubt my son's children
will be at all affected. My sister does not have narcolepsy, but her
daughter does. My four brothers have no narcolepsy, nor have any of their
children.
