Partners in Policymaking currently taking applications for

 Class of 2005-2006!

The Partners in Policymaking program, a nationally recognized leadership and advocacy training program, is currently seeking applicants for its 2005-2006 class.  Applicants must be either an adult with a developmental disability or the parent/family member of a young child with a developmental disability.  Applicants should be highly motivated men and women who seek to make a difference in the lives of others with disabilities in their community and/or the state of Texas. 

The Partners program, in its 15^th year in Texas, provides training about current disability issues and state of the art practices.  Participants become familiar with policymaking and the legislative process at the local, state, and federal levels and practice skills that enable them to contribute.  Partner graduates are helping to effect positive change for people with disabilities in their local communities and on the local, state and national levels.

Partners is funded by the Texas Council for Developmental Disability through the Family to Family Network.  The program is free for all participants selected including registration, transportation, lodging, and meals.
