Cliff Gay sent me the below e.mail. The NLCN does qualify to receive a grant. I will plan on being there and am hoping that Erin, Arlene and Heather will be able to attend as well.
Because this is a grant provided by TMHC, the affiliate as a whole does not qualify to receive the grant (as you see below, the requirements to receive a grant is to have only "Consumer-Operated Services"). At least, that's what I was told by a member of their staff at a workshop I attended a month ago. I was also told that we would only be eligible for a $1,500 grant since it was our first year to make a bid.
Maybe this could be used towards the establishment of an affiliate office.

Subject: TMHC Bidder's Conferences
Andy,
There will be a TMHC Bidder's Conference in Lubbock Thursday March 31, 2005 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. It will be held at the Four Points Sheraton 505 Ave. Q Lubbock, TX 79401 (806) 747-0171.
From reading the information the Bidder's Conference will detail what is required to apply for a $1,500.00, $24,000.00, or $65,000.00 grant for Consumer-Operated Services
Please let me know if you or others plan on attending. I have some paper work to do to let them know who will be attending. The dead line for submitting the paper work is Friday March 25, 2005.
Thanks,
Cliff
