Chrissy,
Very good points. I agree 100%. Thank you for bring that point up. I had a similar situation about two years ago when I had an individual who chose to end his battle with bi-polar disorder two days after attending a support group which I facilitated. I tell you, that is one of the worst feelings I have ever experienced; you know that there is nothing you can do or could of done, but the thought of "Maybe there was something I could of said..." echoed in my mind for weeks after.
I do want to make the clarification that no one is holding LRMHMR responsible for this. Let's face reality ya'll; I know the how and why behind this and for dignity reasons will not share it in a public forum, but I will say this. This came as a complete shock to her friends and family. Yes, she had been off her meds, but to my knowledge, there had been no prior attempts and "voiced ideations."

I just want to say I co-facilitate a support group for two years for individuals with bi-polar and depression. Sadly, we had a member commit suicide b/c she could not see her psychiatrist soon enough. Supports groups are a piece of the treatment puzzle but not the end all be all. Just one individual experience.
