The only government agency _that_I_know_of_ with any formal training for
those specific positions is the California Division of Forestry. The
materials are mostly written in a wildland fire specific context, and so far
as I have seen, the published training materials are in the form of job
books which do not actually contain any training but which list the various
sorts of training and experience a person needs to be fully qualified in the
positions with places for the supervisor to sign when the person completes
each requirement. These CDF job books are available online, but I don't
have the URL right at my finger tips and Google isn't finding them for any
of the search terms I thought of quickly (I did find that CDF has moved
their website, totally rearranged it, and even their own search engine leads
to several dead links)
