The National Registry of Certified EmComm Volunteers (NRCEV), with support from KY ARES and others, has created the EmComm eUniversity . The EmComm eUniversity has been established to offer a common location where EmComm volunteers can easily locate training on the web, and where developers of Emergency Communications training materials will have a platform on which to effectively provide and manage their material.
The EmComm eUniversity is a Learning Management System (or LMS). A LMS is a software package that enables the management and delivery of learning content and resources to students. Most LMSs are web-based to facilitate "anytime, anywhere" access to learning content and administration. At a minimum, a LMS usually allows for student registration, the delivery and tracking of e-learning, courses and content, and testing.
Access and use of the EmComm eUniversity is totally free, to both users and content providers.
