The TRIAD of symptoms for NPH are: (1) Gait Disturbance, including balance problems, shuffling walk (often described as a feeling of the feet being stuck to the floor), sudden falls; (2) Urinary Urgency or Incontinence, (3) Short term memory loss/dementia.
If you are a "seeker" we hope you'll find support and encouragement here. If you have been through the diagnosis and shunt surgery, we'd love for you to stick around to advise and encourage others.
When you join, please take a moment to introduce yourself and your interest in NPH, along with any questions you may have, even if you have been active on other hydrocephalus lists. Please be mindful that this list is exclusively for the discussion of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (non-obstructive), and not other types of hydrocephalus.
Be sure to visit the LINKS for more detailed information & videos about diagnosis and treatment of NPH, and the differences between Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus and Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and other neurological conditions.
You may set and change your preferences for list messages at any time. If you wish to read messages on the web, please check the preference to receive "Special Notices". That way, you'll *only* receive critical messages from the group moderator.
