An advocacy group for New Mexicans living with HIV/AIDS

Mission

The Mission of New Mexico Poz Coalition is to network between clients (People Living with HIV/AIDS) of the HMA Districts, arbitration of issues related to individual clients and service providers where no such resolution is forthcoming, regional PLWA events, and dissemination of information relevant to PLWA activities within the Districts and the State. The Statewide functions include maintaining a web site, a Newsletter, Regional Meetings and an Annual Conference, co-sponsored by the State DOH and the HMA's.

Rationale

People Living with HIV/AIDS in New Mexico have traditionally played a role in advocacy for services, as well as provided peer support, advocacy and a networking coalition. Since the formation of the HMA's and an over all, improvement in services and care, consumers have become increasingly disenfranchised from the provision of services and from one another.

NMPWAs and The New Mexico POZ Coalition strive to bridge this gap by giving you a place to have your voice and share your thoughts.
