Re: [NIHMBL] IV Pumps

We converted to the Alaris pumps in the last year and are incredibly satisfied
with them.  We have not purchased the PCA module or end tidal CO2 modules yet,
but are looking at doing so.  They are also finishing the development of an
epidural module which really completes the system.  Building the drug library
and deciding on the parameters was done with a multi disciplinary team -
anesthesiologists, nurses and pharmacists - and this worked very well and did
not seem too onerous.  I would recommend the Alaris over the other multi channel
pumps on the market - user friendly; guardrails for safety; light weight (that
cannot be stressed enough) and a QI program that allows for detection of near
misses.
Hope that helped.

Trish
