Yes, we have done this but the practice may cease. We just started
doing angioplasty and we have a neuroscience program that requires an
empty bed to be available at all times - especially since we have a
shortage of telemetry beds. This past weekend I had to keep the
recovery room open through the night as I did not have a code bed.
It has been a sore subject at our hospiatl too.
