Dear Prevention minded friends,
Subject: The arrogance of the majority-opinion ODs.
Re: I have respect for people who will be humble, and will
honestly discuss different opinions, and YOUR right to an
informed choice. You will never get it from the following
ODs. They are both arrogant, and ignorant. But please form
your own opinion of them.
I would understand that most people have no interest in
prevention (at the threshold, but it is a subject that you
consider BEFORE you begin wearing a minus. It is very easy to
"service" the great mass of people walking in off the street --
with an over-prescribed minus. Maybe that is what you want?
Maybe you do not want to "work" with prevention? Maybe you do not
"mind" stair-case myopia?
I personally prefer and informed, honest choice in this
matter. It is obvious that we are being treated like "dirt" in
this matter and our intelligence, and potential motivation is not
respected.
I am often told that I should work "with" these people. I
would ask, "how"?
Here is the discussion.

MikeOD > Astigmatism is not as dynamic as myopia or hyperopia, and
it seems to make its changes inexorably as your skin would
change with age, regardless of whether you wear glasses or
not. -MT
DrG > Ah, but in the "dynamic natural eye" (cough, cough, giggle),
astigmatism can indeed be induced.
MikeOD > Yeah, sometimes it's tough to decide what to do for baby
monkeys.

Dear Mike and DrG,
I am pleased that you think that developing stair-case myopia
in children with an over-prescribed minus lens such a joke.
I do not. But that is the difference between us.
Best,
Otis
