Dear Morgan,
It should be clear that I agree that vision-clearing
is tough. It takes strong personal resolve.
To check the "right" Snellen, do it at 20 feet
and with bright light. (There are strong
reasons for checking in this manner.)
Measure the 20/60 letter size. It should
be very close to 1 inch high. That is essential.
Once that condition is estabished, the Snellen
is accurate enough to clear to 20/40 or better.
You are 16 and have your entire life before you.
If you do this "right", you should be able
to clear the 20/60, then 20/50 line, etc.
But that "initial" success is crucial to you -- and
that you see it yourself. It takes great
personal resolve to do this.
