This list is a Supportive discussion list for Motherless Daughters who have lost their mothers in their lives due to Adoption, Abandonment, or Estrangement. Mothers may or may not still be alive but no contact is there. It is a list to discuss our feelings and to learn to cope with the loss of one of the most influencial people in our lives. This list is for support only. It is not to give Therapy. If you are a motherless daughter and your work field happens to be a Therapist, Dr. etc, please do not use your title on this list in your email so that you will put others at ease. Shunning is a cruel practice used in religons to control their members. Some religons that use this practice are Jehovah's Witnsesses (a harsh form of shunning), Amish (a milder form of shunning)as well as many Cult like religons use this as a way of control.
