Keep an eye on Hurricane Rita - it's currently
forecast to hit Houston on Saturday as a Category 3
Hurricane, but these things change constantly.

Here's the web site and tracking map I use ...

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

After three years of service to the local community, PAWS Houston has grown in two diverse directions and a new organization has been born. The new non-profit organization is called People Pet Partnership and is an ALL volunteer group.   I am no longer with PAWS Houston and now a part of this exciting new organization created by Laura Welch.

People Pet Partnership will continue to work with HIV/AIDS clients, stroke victims, elderly people and others that need assistance.   Pet food, annual vaccinations, heartworm preventative, foster care and pet transportation will continue to be provided.   As the organization grows, more services will be added.

PAWS Houston will continue to provide the personal pet hospital visitation program and work with clients with cancer, heart disease, and kidney disease.   Both groups will work with the elderly.

Requirements to be a client are different for each group.   For People Pet Partnership, SSD/SSI is not a requirement.   A diagnosis letter and proof of monthly income of $1,200 is needed.   For couples, the income must be $1,700 or lower.   All elderly (65 or over) are eligible for pet transportation and pet food delivery.   Others services will be provided based on ability to pay.

Thank you so much for your interest in our organization.   We look forward to your continued community support in the future!

Sincerely,

Jeff Grieder
Vice Chair, People Pet Partnership

The contact information for the new organization is:

David,

Unfortunately, seating is extremely limited and most of the seats were
sold by word of mouth before we even announced that we'd have seats.
We're looking at the venue again tonight to get a better estimate of
exactly how many seats will be available.

If we are able to squeeze a few more chairs into the location, then
we'll post on this board and the MCAF web site how to purchase them.

Of course, tickets will be available at the door for $25 for general
admission: we've been told that Rich's has had more than 500 people
attend the "Miss Texas" pageant there, so there should be plenty of
tickets available at the door (which opens at 7 PM on Saturday,
September 24). We'll also be selling general admission tickets in
advance starting next week - again, we'll post that information as
soon as the tickets are printed.

How do people purchase tickets for the Miss Camp Pageant? Are invitations
being sent out or what's going on? Have not seen anything on here and
truthfully, I may have missed it.

But I'm getting questions and not being able to answer them; Who is the
contact person or phone number? And what are the prices? Is there any reserve
seating left?

Thanks,

WOW! Last night was the first night of Space City Idol and I want to thank
EVERYONE for making this year's kickoff a phenomenal night. We have 10 wonderful
contestants, and they all did great helping raise over $600 for Camp Hope!

The energy of last night's show was just amazing...and I was truly proud to be a
Houstonian as I watched everyone take the time to meet Kenneth and Chase - our
New Orleans "refugees" who are staying with two of our ICOH members. Then when
Kenneth jumped at the chance to fill in as a contestant when we realized that we
were missing one of our male contestants...he brought the house to tears with
his angelic voice. The love and caring that everyone has shown them and others
is just amazing.

Voting is now active for --

Girls:
Crystal Towers
DD Demarco
Jennifer Posas
Montana Sommers
Jame Roberts

Boys:
Jerry Deweese
Shameless
Brim
Kenneth
Craig Farrell

Vote for one of these contestants by sending an e-mail to
idol@...

You can vote once per e-mail address per day! Until midnight next Tuesday...

Come out and see next week's show as we say goodbye to one girl and one boy. The
winner at the end of the competition received $500 cash and a performance at the
Enthronement Ball.

Once again - I want to thank everyone for last night...it was great

Hello All,

As many of you know,COPA Productions is producing the
"FACES" Calendar in January 2006. With many of your
local talents from different bars, clubs, and
organizations. It was brought up and discussed with
David Adams, that COPA Productions might possibly
place "ANNUAL EVENTS" and "ANNIVERSARIES" of clubs
,and organizations in the calendar. Which is a VERY
good idea ! Now as far as the clubs, and organizations
go, in order to have their events printed on the
calendar such as ERSICSS CORONATION,ICOH ENDOWMENT,
KEYS WEST ANNIVERSARY,SOUTH BEACH ANNIVERSARY,DENIM
PARTY,MISS CAMP AMERICA PAGEANT; Ect... We would ask for a minimum
donation of$100.00 from each club,or organization that would like
to have the names and events in the calendar for the
community to see...(CHEAP ADVERTIZING) REMEMBER all of
the proceeds go to 1 chosen charity at the end of
2006. And those funds could be $5000.00. Please
forward this or discuss it in your next meeting. And
get back to me. The calendar goes to print on December
21 st. And sold starting January 7th 2006,there will
only be 250 LIMITED EDITION Calendars. Thanks for
your time. Allen Cole

Hello everyone,
I was talking to boy Ranger this afternoon and he came up with a wonderful idea for a fundraiser for those people whose lives are devastated by Katrina. I was asked to send this out to see what kind of responce it would get and see if we could show the world  how much we care in Houston. We would like to do a cookout <possibly at the Ripcord on Monday> of Hamburgers and Hotdogs, potatoes chips and baked beans. We would need the cooks time, meat and sides donated if possible. That way all proceeds could help those in need.  I have already discussed this with a few people who thought it was a great idea. I think we can pull it off. And the best thing is no drag show for once to raise money. Sorry if this is rambling but it has been a long day. Please email me privately if you can assist in any way at iprxix@....

Now that I am recovering from the campaign/election/announcement and seem to
have found a way to hang out on cloud nine and come down with the flu at the
same time.

I wanted to thank everyone again for their support. WOW!

Even though I ran unopposed.it sometimes seems more difficult to run
"against yourself" and obviously with numbers the way they were -

you all overwhelmingly entrusted me with this job to which I will devote my
heart and soul.

To all of the clubs and organizations who have supported us.thank you for
constantly being there for ICOH and for the ALL of this community. I promise
that I will continue to be there for you all!

To the reigning Mother and Boy of Montrose - thank you for being there for me
throughout.you both are absolutely the best! And yes to Daddy of Montrose having
you pick out clothes for me is fabulous!

Korwin - you have a heart of gold and are one of the hardest working members of
ICOH. I truly meant everything I said when I gave you the Founders Award and
still believe in you today.

Thank you for your love and support.

I have to thank my husband, Jeff Wallace, the most.with out all of your support
and constant pushing me to do my best and your schlepping of all my drag. I
would never have lasted.

To my Emperor-Elect Marc.we have a big year ahead, and I look forward to every
moment. Now let's go make history!

Thank you again to everyone.

To the wonderful members of the Houston GLBT Community!

I know many of you received e-mails from Marc Cohen yesterday noting his
appreciation for the campaign, and I wanted to start my Monday morning by doing
the same. (It takes a little longer to recover from being in drag for 20 hours
solid on Saturday!)

This has been a very active, exciting and fun campaign month for me and although
at times it was very stressful and long - thanks to so many of you it has been
such a rewarding experience. Yes, there are way too many of you to list
individually - but everyone who helped out in any way possible, please know that
I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I could not have done this without you.
Yes, this is my second time around, but of course
this if MUCH different than the first!

Closing the polls at 301 votes (more than doubling last year's
election!).shows that Korwin, Marc and myself played a role in getting the
community out.but it also shows that the hard work ICOH - The Space City Empire
is doing within our community is paying off! Raising and distributing the tens
of thousands of dollars that we do for so many charities is always our focus -
and we will always succeed no matter who or what the obstacle may be!

Once again - thank you all for coming out.and whether you voted yes or no for me
- I still thank you for getting involved in the process. As most of you know - I
will always be there no matter what the outcome of next Saturday may be - but I
encourage all of you to come and find out at P&P Ball III in honor of Crown
Prince Royale Scott Kenyon and Crown Princes Royale Marcia Mink at Rich's,
Saturday, August 20 (5 pm - 9pm). It plans to be a fabulous event with Casino
Tables, Show and of course the announcement of the new Apollo Emperor-Elect and
Gemini Empress-Elect.

Once again.thank you all,

In Service to the Crown and Community,

Chanel Cartier a.k.a. Sean Carter
