Bob, is this true? I thought we transferred the name to Legacy and
they could use the name to raise funds.
I'd expect that if Miss Camp America ever did anything again for
charity, it'd be as a fundraiser for Legacy (with their permission, of
course).

It's with great pleasure on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Miss Camp American Foundation that I announce our first beneficiary disbursement for the 2005 Miss Camp America Pageant "FEMME FATALE".
The Assistance Fund $5000.00
The Montrose Clinic $1700.00
Bering Omega Community Services $1650.00
Montrose Counseling Center $1650.00
GRAND TOTAL $10,000.00
Now once we finish up the close out of our accounts & the organization we will distribute all that is left. As we said at the pageant, MCAF is not dead, just making a major change. Please stay on the look out for some great announcements and our next pageant hopefully coming to a theater near you.
If you have any question regarding this distribution please feel free to contact me directly at dquijano@... or (713) 409-1584.
How does a non profit organization become one of the people that receive
monies from the Miss Camp America Foundation. Any information that
you could provide me with would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

response from Moderator -
Rick,
The Miss Camp America Foundation is closing it's doors,
so we will no longer be selecting charities from the community.
Instead, the Miss Camp America Pageant will become a fundraiser
for Legacy Community Health Services, which is a 501 c(3)organization.

I thought I'd pass along the latest news - Pat had surgery this morning and is in recovery. He is expected to be at Park Plaza until Tuesday. I believe he will be in room 631 - phone 713-527-5674.

I'd like to thank everyone in the cast and crew
for the hard work and exceptionally fun performance of last night. You
should all be proud of the show.
Thanks to Stephanie - because she whipped us all into shape so that we
could look as good as we did on stage.
I had a great time and look forward to the next show - wherever and
whenever that may be.

This is my first experience with Miss Camp. You guys are so professional (and a lot of fun to work with) I wish I had joined MCAF years ago.
Stephanie is one of the nicest and thorough choreographers and directors I've met. Your enthusiasm and talent were so evident last night. I know you couldn't tell much about the technical aspects but trust me, the staff at Rich's is very talented and you all will look incredible.
I am honored to be part of this final show and having the opportunity to work with all of you.
Due to the concern of Rita hitting Houston, the Miss Camp America Foundation, Inc. has decided to postpone our pageant that was scheduled for Saturday, September 24, 2005.
Our new date for the 36th Annual Miss Camp America Pageant "Femme Fatale" will be Friday, September 30, 2005 with doors opening at 7:00 pm and the show starting at 7:30. All tickets that have been sold will be honored on this date. As well general admission ticket will be available on this night.
From all the member of MCAF we truly hope that everyone comes out of this untouch, and please know our thoughts and prayers are with everyone. We truly look foward to presenting this show to you!
Thanks to all the members of the Miss Camp America
Foundation and all of our other performers and crew for the hard work
last night for our first day in the "theater". A great big thanks to
the Rich's staff for their extremely hard work with the lighting and
sound.
Thanks to Stephanie for getting us all in place, and thanks to Dale for
managing the technical aspects.
We're waiting for the official Wednesday 5 PM weather forecast from the
National Weather Service to decide about whether Rita is going to
affect us. (This morning's forecast doesn't look to good -
Corpus/Freeport/Galveston has 43% chance of being the landfall site.)

Subject: [MissCampAmerica] Hurricane Rita
We will make an announcement on this board and on our Web site on
Wednesday evening about the status of the pageant.
Thank you,
Rex
The Miss Camp America Pageant will be held at Rich's at 7:45 PM on Saturday,
September 24.
Keep an eye on Hurricane Rita - it's currently
forecast to hit Houston on Saturday as a Category 3
Hurricane, but these things change constantly.
