Sorry it took me so long to reply to this, but it has been a very busy week for me.  I agree 100% with Tim.  Everyone looked wonderful we all need to be very proud of the work we all did as a TEAM.  I want to personally Thank everyone from the foundation that took time off to come show us support.  You all have no idea what a difference it makes to see our own members support us.  I know that it made me feel very proud to represent the organization.  Once again a BIG THANK YOU!

Barry Petree Community Commitment Award

ICOH - The Space City Empire is seeking nominations from the community for the
Barry Petree Community Commitment Award. The recipient of this honor is awarded
by an open community vote and announced at the annual ICOH Enthronement Ball in
October.

The award was created by proclamation of Mercury Emperor XIII, Jerel McNeil, to
recognize a member of our community who represents the ideals of charitable
commitment and community service that the late Barry Petree embodied. “Barry
had an endless commitment of serving the community, and especially those living
with HIV/AIDS,” explains McNeil. “His focus and devotion are greatly
missed.”

The nominations are open to any member of the Houston community. Nominations
must be sent to Jerel McNeil at jmcneil228@... or can be mailed to his
attention at 1739 Commonwealth, Houston, TX 77006. Nominations must be received
by Wednesday, July 7. The board of directors of ICOH will select the top five
nominees who will be placed on the ballot along with the election of Apollo
Emperor and Gemini Empress. Voting will be held August 12, 4 – 7pm (EJ’s •
2517 Ralph St.) and August 14, 10am – 6pm (Pride Committee of Houston office
• 1415 California Suite 110). The voting is open to any resident of Harris and
surrounding counties. The nominees will be announced at the Candidate
Announcement Show, Friday July 9, 8pm at EJ’s.

For information please contact Jerel McNeil.

During this event we ask our charities & different organizations of our community to spoof a wedding party. This includes performing a skit or musical number, and providing a Cake Topper, Garter Belt, & Wedding Bouquet that will be auctioned off after their presentation.  In the past, many groups and organizations have included items of value (i.e. gift certificates, etc.) to make sure the item drew in a substantial amount money.  If your club, group, or organization is interested in participating in "June Bride" please contact Rene Weaver (VP of Community Affairs) at (281) 370-8542 or by email at rene.weaver@....   In addition, we will be having a silent auction that is sure to please, with items that our members have acquired from different businesses within our community.

Please come out and enjoy a fabulous event hosted by the Miss Camp America Foundation. All proceeds from this show will benefit: The Assistance Fund, Bering Omega Community Services, The Montrose Clinic, & The Montrose Counseling Center. A $5 Suggested Donation will be taken at the door.

Hope to see everyone at the show
