PAWS Houston Pet Idol Contest
Your dog could be famous! Tell us why your dog is your best friend!

1. Judges will be looking for originality and creativity.
2. A short caption (under 100 words) is required.
3. The decision of the judging panel will be final.
4. The entry deadline is Wednesday, February 2, 2005
5. The winners will be announced at the Houston Dog Bowl on
Saturday, February 12, 2005. Contest begins promptly
at 1 p.m.
6. PAWS Houston reserves the right to publish and/or
exhibit any or all entries in connection with the contest.
7. Entry in this competition indicates acceptance of all above
rules and conditions.
Contestants will be judged on the following:
Appearance with one Pet Trick
Pets will be judged on groom (according to breed) and overall look. Let
your pet strut its stuff and show its best attributes. Judges will be
looking at its character. Have your pet perform his or hers best pet trick.
Pick a trick that will stand out above the rest and amaze and captivate the
judges as well as the audience.
Owner Q&A
The owner and the pet are a team. So we need to hear from the owner.
Please attach this information on this application form. This will be read
by the MC during the Appearance with one Pet Trick portion of the contest.
From this question, judges want to know what makes your pet so special.
Such as... Why is your pet your best friend? What kind of difference has
your pet made in your life as a family member? Make sure your answer will
stick in the judges mind and maybe and even bring a tear to their eye!
Pet Costume
Once again this is a chance for your pet to strut its stuff. Be as creative
as possible and pick a costume that will best show your pets character.
Judges will be looking for overall look and a costume that is really an
attention getter and fun.
The winner will be the PAWS Houston Pet Idol for 2005 and will win lots of
fun prizes. The winner will be a "special guest" at PAWS events and
fundraisers during 2005.
All proceeds benefit PAWS Houston
PAWS Houston keeps love alive. People with disabling illnesses and elderly
shut-ins are often disenfranchised, and very much alone. Many lose their
jobs, family and friends, their homes, and their income. Thanks to PAWS
Houston, they don't have to lose their pets too. PAWS Houston provides
financial and practical support to clients so they can keep the pets they
love so much, even in the face of critical health issues.
Entry fee: $10.00 includes ticket to event
The contest will take place at the Houston Dog Bowl, Saturday, February 12
at the Houston Farm and Ranch Club. Entries must be received by February 2,
2005
