For parents who have received a devastating prenatal diagnosis, who have chosen to continue the pregnancy. Many doctors discourage continuing pregnancy for conditions such as Down Syndrome, nephrosis, heart anomalies, lethal neonatal skeletal dysplasias, trisomy 18, 13, 9, etc, anencephaly, or other congenital problems with poor outcomes, or which may involve mental retardation or potential fatality. Finding support for the choice to continue the pregnancy is difficult, and whether your baby has any real chance at life or not, finding a doctor to support a choice to let them have a chance is hard. This is a safe place for parents to share their sorrow, joy, or determination, who desire to give their child whatever chance at life they can have, for as long as they can have them, but who realize that even if they do not lose their baby, they will have many difficulties to face. If you are pregnant with a baby or have lost a baby to one of these conditions, welcome. Whether your baby defies the odds and lives, or whether they leave too soon, you are welcome to come and draw strength or help strengthen others. Christian perspective encouraged. Group owned by a mother of a baby with Thanatophoric Dysplasia. I believe these babies are not "disposable babies". They are miracles, but just a different kind of miracle than we had planned on, and a more difficult kind to cope with.
