Dear Olmstead Coalition Members:

In order to keep the pressure up to stop the Home Help cuts, the Olmstead Coalition is organizing a teach-in for legislators on Home and Community Based Services.  We want as many organizations as possible to sponsor this teach-in and our other advocacy efforts to preserve and expand Home and Community Based Services.  To this end, we want to list all of our member organizations on out letterhead (as we have done in the past).  The current list is outdated and does not include every organization (for example, I would like to see every CIL listed individually.

Here is the current list:

UCP Michigan
UCP of Metro Detroit
MACIL
MDRC
The Arc Michigan
Community Housing Network
Developmental Disabilities Institute
Great Lakes CIL (no longer in existence)
LAP Respite Center
Michigan Protection and Advocacy Service
Michigan Poverty Law Program
Michigan Statewide Independent Living Council
Paraprofessional  Healthcare Institute
Washtenaw Association for Community Advocacy

Please let me know by next Wednesday if you would like your organization listed.

Our advocacy efforts are working. DCH is working on changing the proposed cuts to the Home Help Program.

Our next meeting is next Thursday, November 6 at 3 p.m. at The Arc Michigan.  Please let me know if you want to teleconference and I will try to arrange it. Also, I'm sorry for the short notice but we are trying to handle things as they come up.  If anybody has suggestions for a regular meeting date (certain day of the month and time), let me know.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Ellen
