Important Message: You will hear many say that only those college freshmen living in dorms are at risk for meningococcal meningitis. However you should know that my son and many of the Angels here were college freshmen and living off campus. Many are infants,children and teens who died or will never attend college because of the debilitation left from this vaccine preventable form of meningitis. We can stop this by following ACIP recommendations for immunization and immunizing ages 11 and 12 - college freshmen age. .

ALL Children in daycare, those under 2 years of age and children of Afican Amerian and American Indian hertitage are at higher risk for pneumococcal meningitis. Make sure your infant is up to date on all immunizations.
