JCT: After registering in my 66th election in the Ontario
provincial election in Brant, I've just lost my 65th
election in the Quebec federal byelection in Outremont. I
only made two small news items:
>Profession: eternel perdant

On pourrait les qualifier d'eternels perdants. Ou, en termes
plus diplomatiques, de candidats perseverants. Dans
Outremont, trois des douze candidats multiplient les
tentatives pour se faire elire. Apres 64 echecs electoraux,

diplomatic terms, persevering candidates. In Outremont,
three of the twelve candidates multiply the chances of being
elected. After 64 election losses, one of them even holds
the Guinness Record in the field.]
Ce champion toutes categories s'appelle John Turmel. Celui
federale d'Ottawa West. Il a depuis participe a 27 autres
elections generales ou complementaires federales (incluant
celle du 17 septembre), 27 scrutins provinciaux (en Ontario)
et 10 municipaux.

byelections (including that of Sep 17), 27 provincial
ballots (in Ontario) and 10 municipal.]
<Je me

faire connaitre mes idees economiques>, precise cet
ingenieur de formation.

Google, we find hundreds of texts associated with his
battles, which go from the legalisation of private casinos
to the legalisation of marijuana. "The main reason I run is
to get my economic ideas known," says this engineering
graduate.]
--[And I wasn't able to get my my economic mentioned in this
article.]

Outremont, c'est ma 65e election!>

having the most elections contested. Outremont is my 65th
election."
JCT: The only good news is that the anti-war NDP took the
seat in anti-war Quebec. Remember my grandfather Adelard was
a pacifist who ducked the First World War (to end all wars,
har har har) by refusing the draft and hiding out in the
woods for the duration.
The Liberals sent Canadian forces to Afghanistan to chase
the guys who didn't do 911, the Tories are keeping them
chasing the guys who didn't do 911, the NDP only voted to
start the chase but are now the first to start admitting our
posse is chasing the wrong guys.
